Episode 90 with Ebonie Vincent & Brad Schaeffer [My Feet are Killing Me]

In this episode we were joined by Dr Brad from the East coast and Dr Ebonie from the West coast about the hit TLC show My Feet Are Killing Me. We chatted about how they came to be on the show, the process a patient who is being seen on TV goes through, and some of our favourite real time Twitter comments whilst the show is airing. Follow Ebonie and Brad over on Instagram, and check out the show on TLC, Discovery+ and Really (UK). There were a number of technical difficulties in this brief episode but it was loads of fun talking to them.

Episode 42 on Podiatry Video Marketing

In this episode we welcomed Dave James (The Foot and Leg Magician), Melissa Zacharia (Pod Fit Podiatry) and Jonathan Tomines (The Toe Bro) to offer their thoughts and experiences on generating Podiatry videos. We talked through some of the biggest barriers and concerns people have before starting, and the potential benefits (to both the individual and the profession) of doing them. We also touched on how to do them (equipment required), where we should be looking for our inspiration for generating them and how do deal with negative feedback (remember; having haters is a privilege).

Episode 24: Professional Associations

In this episode we talked about a number of issues with representatives from three professional associations:
Katrina Pratt; President – Australian Podiatry Association.
Matthew Fitzpatrick; Provost – College of Podiatry.
Ben Lamb; Chairman – Podiatry New Zealand.
We discussed the differences between the sizes of the three (yet the rather similar challenged faced) and touched on the bidirectional responsibilities (of the oranisations to the members, and the members to the organisations), the level ‘engagement’ from all parties, and where the professional bodies may see themselves in 5 years time.

Episode 13: Jill Woods [Social Media]

In this episode, with Jill Woods, we talked about why health professionals often see marketing as a dirty word, and Jill clarifies the way we can re-frame this and use it for the good of the profession. We also talk about the pros and cons of social media, discuss some of the different platforms (the big 4!) available and how to use them, and ultimately how they can be used for good by all, even our professional/governing bodies.
